The Flying Nun (1967)
S02E01 Song of Bertrille
Episode Overview
In a vibrant episode featuring The Sundowners, Sister Bertrille learns that Sonny and the band are set to perform at Casino Carlos A-Go-Go. Excited to reconnect with Sonny, she approaches him, and he proposes a collaboration to support the convent—asking her to write a song that they'll record, with her receiving the royalties. Sister Bertrille crafts a whimsical, psychedelic tune, which The Sundowners transform into an electrifying, mind-bending experience. The nuns attend the go-go club for the song's premiere, only to be overwhelmed by a dazzling strobe light display, caged go-go dancers, and catchy phrases like "grow your own" and "magic mushrooms." It's a must-see rock 'n' roll spectacle featuring Paul Peterson and The Sundowners.
