Cosmos (2026)

Plot

In a remote Yucatán village, Lena, a 68-year-old widow, encounters Leon, a 62-year-old Mayan keeper of nature's mysteries and spirits. Unexpectedly, Leon becomes her companion. Though they come from different worlds, a profound bond grows between them—one that will last until death. In his latest film, Germinal Roaux, a singular voice in contemporary European cinema, crafts a philosophical meditation on aging and bodily decline. Above all, it celebrates solidarity and the small acts of love that lend meaning and dignity to life. Filmed in black and white with a ritualistic pace reflecting time's slow drift at life's end, Roaux's work speaks poetically and sincerely about our most essential connection: love.
