Cobert is most remembered for his long-running collaboration with producer and director Dan Curtis. Earlier in his career, Cobert wrote music for the soap opera *Dark Shadows* and its two theatrical films. Beyond these projects, Cobert created themes for numerous game shows. He contributed music to the NBC daytime drama *The Doctors* over multiple years, composed for ABC's *The Young Marrieds*, and wrote the score for the CBS reality program *That's My Line*, which aired from 1980 to 1981.
