Miki Sugimoto

Miki Sugimoto, born on January 28, 1953, in Chigasaki, Japan, is a Japanese actress best known for her work in Pinky violence—a genre of erotic action films centered on delinquent characters. Between 1971 and 1977, she appeared in roughly twenty films.

One notable controversy surrounding her career involves the 1975 film *L'aubergine est farcie* (*The Eggplant is Stuffed*), a French remake by René Vianet of Yukio Noda's *Les Menottes rouges* (*The Red Handcuffs*). The French Secretary of State for Culture, Michel Guy, prohibited the film from being shown before it could reach audiences.

Sugimoto's screen presence became closely tied to the Pinky violence movement, and her performances in this distinctive genre left a lasting mark on Japanese exploitation cinema.
